40 Weeks + 1 Day

Okay my little "Wy"se Guy- we are now past due!  This of course doesn't surprise me, considering how long we've waited for you this far!  Of course you wouldn't make it easy and come on your due date.  I still love you sooooo much though, and you can come whenever you are ready. :) Your little baby cousin Sophia was born on Wednesday and she is just the most beautiful little thing- you are going to LOVE her so much.  I'm still feeling great, in fact I haven't felt any different in the past 2 weeks.  I got to sit and listen to your heart beating for 20 whole minutes yesterday at the Dr.'s office to make sure you aren't in distress in there.  You seemed to be happy as a clam. And that little heartbeat sure is the sweetest sound in the world.

 So, not to hurry you or anything, but please come soon- summer is the best time of year- and your Mama and Daddy (not to mention tons of other people who love you) are so excited to meet you, we can hardly stand it!

39 Weeks

Hello my little chocolate-loving, hiccupping monster.  We officially have 4 days until you are due.  Feel free to make an early surprise debut whenever, though! ;)  Little baby cousin Sophia will be here on Wednesday- so excited to meet her too!  Lately, we can't seem to get enough chocolate around here, and the strangest part about that is I haven't gained a single pound in the last 2 weeks- how is that possible?  At this moment, it is summer and 80 degrees out, and I am drinking hot chocolate- bc that is the only chocolate in our house right now.  Also, let's talk about how you have been getting the hiccups at least twice a day- it is hilarious and just about the cutest thing ever.  Anyways- I have never been so excited and happy in all my life and I owe that all to you.  Thanks for teaching me the importance of patience.  I've never waited so long in my life for something so amazing. 

38 Weeks

Oh baby! This is one HUGE Mama. :)  So excited to be done with work for 4 whole months so that I can devote all my time to you, my man.  You're due to arrive in 12 days- give or take a few! How wonderful that you are a summer baby just like your Mama and Daddy- I can 't help but think of all the amazing summers we will have together in the years ahead!  I went swimming yesterday at Aunt Caryn's pool and it was such an amazing feeling to be weightless again in the water- You had your first swim in utero!  I just know you will love the water as much as we do!  I have the cutest little baby board shorts ready and waiting for you too. 

10 Years Ago...

We officially started dating. :)  Can't even believe it's been that long!  It's been a fun, happy, challenging, and exciting adventure these past ten years- and I'm ABSOLUTELY certain we are in for an even wilder ride in the next chapter of our life together with our little guy on the way!

36 & 37 Weeks

Happy BIRTH MONTH my little baby Wyatt! The countdown is on! I can't believe I am full term.  Less than 20 days left till we meet!  What can I say that I haven't already said?...I'm so anxious- this whole pregnancy has flown by, but we are definitely more than ready for your arrival.  You are soooooo worth the wait. :)  If what they say about hair and heartburn is true, then you will have lots of hair- because my heartburn is back with a vengeance lately!  I have been pretty nauseaus again too, and really the only thing I want to eat is ice-cream and the only thing I want to wear is maxi dresses. I love feeling your little body parts poking out of my belly- it's so fun to guess what is what and play back with you.  And my goodness, you are a strong little guy!  Everytime Daddy leaves, I remind him to keep his phone close by because you could decide to make your debut at any time now.  I've been trying to enjoy every minute of sleep and every ounce of feeling free to do anything or go anywhere I want without thinking twice, because I know that is all about to change.  I am ready though- so ready to be the best mama for you, my little love bug!

Tommy

 This blog just wouldn't be complete without the mention of this guy.  Tommy has been such an important part of our lives since we got him last Christmas (2010).  He is really a huge part of our little family and I don't know how I could have gotten through the past 2 years without him.  He came into our lives at a very rough time and has shown me how much love, companionship, trust, and complete joy an animal can bring into the lives of humans!  Tommy was born about a month before our first baby would have been born and I don't doubt that God brought him to us intentionally in order to help us get over the loss and sadness we felt at that time.
 This special pup - he is one smart dog. We communicate sometimes with a single look. :)  He has learned quickly that baby Wyatt is coming- I think he senses that his world is about to change. He knows the name already and where Wyatt's room is now when we say it. He loves hanging out in that room and I have a feeling that is where he will sleep when you are finally here, little babe.  The first time I put all of the baby toys in a basket in the nursery, I woke up to Tommy in the middle of the floor surrounded by baby toys.  He had pulled almost every single one out of the basket and wasn't doing anything destructive- just sniffing them and trying to figure out what they were all about.  I gave him a quick "no-no, these are baby Wyatt's toys" and put them all back in the basket, and he hasn't taken them out again since. He knows they are not for him. :)

Baby Wyatt, I hope that you and Tommy will grow to be the best of buds! (I can already envision the special bond between you and him and all the pictures I can't wait to take of the two of you) and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
